Veterinary and Phytosanitary Declarations
When importing food, canned fish, plants, or plant materials you have to deal with additional declarations and inspections by the Netherlands Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA). NLD Customs has the licenses and IT connections with this authority to handle this kind of products properly and we can take care of a smooth inspection. Above all, we have full focus to arrange the inspection and administration procedures as soon as possible as these products are usually perishable.
If you import wooden furniture with, for example, origin Indonesia, you will need an original FLEGT document. FLEGT means Forest Law Enforcement Governance and Trade. This is a voluntary partnership Agreement for specified wood products, like wood, paper, wood pulp and furniture. Before customs release the goods an additional declaration for NVWA is necessary and the original FLEGT document should be handover to the NVWA. They will verify the papers and declaration. In case of no issues the important clearance can be done.
